The Second Vatican Council rightly proclaimed that the Eucharistic sacrifice is “the source and summit of the Christian life”. “For the most holy Eucharist contains the Church's entire spiritual wealth: Christ himself, our passover and living bread. Through his own flesh, now made living and life-giving by the Holy Spirit, he offers life to men”.

---Ecclesia De Eucharistia, 1

In our own local community of St. Brigid of Kildare, we are called to cultivate a deep faith in the Eucharist, which is that gift of the very love of God.  In cultivating that faith in the Eucharist, we understand that it helps us to live our daily lives as Christ would have.  Therefore, this Holy Year calls us to live our lives in the Eucharist, a life where every task we do, transcendent and mundane, is “permeated” with the Love of Jesus Christ, who orients himself to us in that very Eucharist.
