2018-2019 High School Faith Formation, Fellowship, & Service
2018-2019 High School Youth Ministry
Lord, teach us to pray is a year of formation that begs the questions: Have you heard Him? Have you gazed upon Him? Have you encountered Him?
Consider the road to Emmaus: at first, the disciples didn’t recognize Jesus as he walked with them on the road to Emmaus, “Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.” (Luke 24:35) When Jesus joined the disciples at their table and broke the bread, they finally realized it was him.
Jesus is present among us every day – in the people we meet, when we gather in fellowship & in prayer, and in the Eucharist.
Lord, teach us to pray is a formation year which focuses on encountering Jesus. We will expose the beauty and grace shared in the mass, gain perspective to engage in the mass more fully, grow in confidence to read and apply scripture to your life, discover the Lord’s prayer as your own prayer, and experience various forms of prayer. Learn more about your own styles of connecting with and talking to God from your heart, make more friends, and serve the community together this year!
The 2018-2019 formation year is broken down into four formation series and one overnight retreat. High school fellowship and service opportunities are listed below and spread throughout the year. High School faith formation takes place on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM in Enke Hall.
