Lament Psalms

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me.”

Sound familiar?  You may recall these as the words Jesus cried from the cross.  In the face of the many pandemics facing our world today(coronavirus, fear, economic stress, food insecurities, racism) our hearts have cried out –“How long, O Lord, how long?”  For many, it seems as if God has abandoned us when we most need God.  We are echoing the call that our ancestors from all generations have uttered in times of great emotional, physical or spiritual pain.

Starting Tuesday, August 11 and each consecutive Tuesday until September 22 from 7:00 PM -8:000 PM via ZOOM, we will look at the Book of Lamentations and the lament psalms.  We will see what our faith tradition has to teach us in these uncertain times.  YOU NEED TO HAVE A ZOOM APP and an e-mail account.   YOU ALSO NEED TO REGISTER no later than August 4th, so you will have the email materials in time. Select this link to registerIn order to have a fruitful conversation and sharing we need to have at least 10 people.  Once you have registered you will receive the information you need by July 30th.—Sister Teresa
