Our Columbus Diocese is overjoyed at the announcement that Pope Francis has named Father Earl K. Fernandes, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, as the Bishop of Columbus. He will be joining us as our new spiritual leader following his installation on May 31, 2022.
Let us show our new Bishop that St. Brigid of Kildare is behind him and the Diocese of Columbus as he begins his new role by donating to the 2022 Bishops Annual Appeal. He will need our prayers and encouragement.
Your faithful support of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal helps secure our Catholic legacy. The BAA funds, the education of our children, preparation courses for marriage, the education of our future priests and deacons, social justice programs in our community, and many other ministries.
The Appeal gives us the opportunity to support the good works and ministries that bring hope to many of our brothers and sisters throughout the 23 counties of our Diocese. Our parish has been asked to raise $283,000. We can accomplish this if, after prayerful consideration, everyone gives what they can. Our response to the Appeal is one way to share our blessings with our neighbors and to express our gratitude for all the blessings that our most loving God has bestowed on us.
The Bishop’s Annual Appeal began the weekend of April 23 and 25, 2022. Please consider supporting the ministries and programs made possible through the generosity of the people of faith.
We are providing an envelope for your donation, but we are strongly encouraging you to go online to columbuscatholicgiving.org to make a secure pledge or gift.
As we welcome Earl K. Fernandes, I am filled with excitement and hope for the future of our Diocese. As you prayerfully reflect upon a gift, please know that I am grateful to you for your sacrifice, regardless of the amount. We have been given so much at St. Brigid of Kildare, help me to look outside and help those in need.
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Hendricks
