The Family First Ministry invites families of all shapes and sizes to join a welcoming community committed to supporting one another in living out the joy and challenges of Catholic family life. Whether you’re a new parent, seasoned mom, or seeking to deepen your marriage, we’re here for you.
Family First provides opportunities for:
- Family as Ministry: Discover how to make your home a place where faith, love, and service thrive.
- Parenting Insights: Catholic parenting discussions to help you be the best parent and leader in your home.
- Marriage Enrichment: Strengthen your bond and grow in faith as a couple.
We offer a variety of programs throughout the year to help families connect, grow, and serve:
- Mom to Mom: A weekly gathering for Catholic moms to connect, discuss parenting, and grow in faith, with childcare included (sign up below!) to make it easy to participate!
- Make It a Date: You and your spouse can enjoy drinks and appetizers with other couples in the parish while discussing the evening’s theme. Then head out for a date with your spouse to continue the conversation.
- Advent By Candlelight: A beautiful event for women to prepare spiritually for the Advent season, focusing on prayer and reflection.
- Family Service Projects: Hands-on opportunities for families to serve others together, with projects suited for all ages.

Save the Date for Advent by Candlelight 2025
Please join Family First and the women of St. Brigid of Kildare for the 11th annual Advent by Candlelight! The event will be held November 20, 2025 at the Robert D. Walter Family Gymnasium. Local catechist and writer Cathy Johanni will be the keynote speaker of the evening. Registration opens October 29th at 7 p.m.

Family First is pleased to share materials produced by the Diocese to create a Family Mission Statement. A family mission statement is a written, statement that articulates the goals, purposes and work of a particular family, and it is inspired by values and Catholic virtues. The hope is to strengthen our parish families to help them define their God-given purpose. Click the link above to begin your Family Mission Statement.
