Welcome Ellie Hanson, High School Youth Minister
St. Brigid of Kildare Parish is happy to welcome Ellie Hanson as our new High School Youth Minister. Ellie brings over three years of experience serving at Damascus in their full-time missionary program, as a youth minister, and overseeing pastoral care during retreats. Damascus is a missionary movement that partners with the work of the Holy Spirit to bring revival to the Catholic Church in America.
Ellie has been a lifelong member of St. Brigid of Kildare Parish — she graduated from St. Brigid of Kildare School in 2017 and Bishop Watterson in 2021. Ellie received all of her sacraments at our parish and has loved the gift of growing up and staying here. She was involved in our youth ministry program while in high school and since then has completed over 10,000 hours of work in youth ministry.
Ellie’s parents, Eric and Peigi Hanson, have been members of the parish since its founding, and her siblings Clayton and Angie graduated from St. Brigid of Kildare School as well. Ellie and her fiance Otis will be getting married at St. Brigid in June of 2025, so she asks for your prayers for them.
Ellie says, “I am really looking forward to being involved at the parish level and learning how to love those around me! I am also looking forward to building relationships with our high schoolers, being a part of their lives, and showing them how the Lord draws near to them in everything!”
Ellie will begin her new role on August 19 and can be reached at ehanson@stbrigidofkildare.org or (614) 718-5832.
