Saint Brigid’s Feast Day: 1,500th Anniversary

This Thursday, February 1, marks the 1500th anniversary of the death of Saint Brigid of Kildare.

Churches across Kildare, Ireland will participate in a special ecumenical service titled “Celebrating Saint Brigid 1500: A Service of Thanksgiving,” to be held at St. Brigid’s Cathedral at 11 a.m.

The Christian communities of Kildare have extended an invitation for the faithful around the world to join them in the “Pause for Peace,” to place their intentions in the hands of St. Brigid on her feast day. The cathedral and participating parishes will hold their “Pause for Peace” at noon, which is 7 AM Eastern Standard Time.

Join in a pause for peace and special prayer for Saint Brigid of Kildare, our patron saint, this Thursday. We will be pausing and praying for Saint Brigid during our 9 AM Mass here at our parish on Thursday. Learn more about the Kildare services here: https://aleteia.org/2024/01/26/irish-christians-to-mark-1500th-anniversary-of-st-brigid/?utm_campaign=EM-EN-Newsletter-Daily-&utm_content=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sendgrid&utm_term=20240126
